WebMed LLC is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient behavioral health team in Duluth, Minnesota. This position offers the opportunity to practice independently while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to making mental health care accessible, affordable, and effective.
As a PMHNP at WebMed, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, brief psychotherapy, and ongoing psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults. Providers also have opportunities to participate in innovative treatment services including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato® (esketamine) therapy. What You’ll Do
Psychiatric Patient Care
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations as the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner responsible for patient assessments.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Provide psychiatric medication management for a diverse outpatient population, meeting high standards for Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.
- Deliver brief psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions during medication management visits.
- Manage an assigned psychiatric caseload while maintaining continuity of care, drawing on your skills as a Psychiatric Mental Health specialist Nurse Practitioner.
- Coordinate admission, ongoing treatment, and discharge planning.
- Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care.
Collaboration & Team-Based Care
- Collaborate closely with therapists, addiction counselors, case managers, and primary care providers; the Nurse Practitioner truly connects psychiatric and mental health disciplines.
- Coordinate care with outside providers and community partners when appropriate.
- Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that includes experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.
- Foster a welcoming, compassionate, and therapeutic environment for every patient.
Specialty Behavioral Health Services
Following appropriate training, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner supports innovative mental health offerings for our clinic.
- Provide supervision and clinical oversight for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner expert.
- Provide supervision and documentation for Spravato® (esketamine) treatment sessions as part of the responsibilities of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Participate in expanding innovative psychiatric treatment options within the organization, contributing as a committed Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical documentation by every Psychiatric Mental Health NP.
- Maintain compliance with Minnesota Board of Nursing regulations, DEA requirements, payer standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to WebMed LLC policies, procedures, and quality standards as required of a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all clinical interactions, as expected for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing clinical education and professional development relevant to nurse practitioners in the mental health psychiatric field.
- Contribute to provider education or clinic training opportunities, if interested, and strengthen your Psychiatric NP skills.
- Support WebMed’s mission of delivering exceptional behavioral healthcare throughout northeastern Minnesota with your expertise as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Minnesota.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain DEA registration, as required for all Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain MAT prescribing authority for buprenorphine (Suboxone).
- Current or ability to obtain BLS/CPR certification, a must for every Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner candidate.
- Successfully complete all required background studies and credentialing requirements necessary for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
- Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills vital for the role of a Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team as a valued Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, core to great Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performance.
- Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered behavioral healthcare is expected from all Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners on our team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of outpatient psychiatric practice experience as a PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).
- Experience treating pediatric and adolescent populations as a Mental Health-focused Nurse Practitioner.
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, a plus for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner applicants.
- Experience providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in mental health nurse practitioner practice.
- Experience with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) or Spravato® (Esketamine) treatment programs, relevant for Nurse Practitioners in psychiatric settings.
- Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking abilities gained from Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experience.
- Strong leadership and collaborative communication skills, traits we value in our Nurse Practitioner team members.
- Advanced computer proficiency and experience using electronic health record systems—a must for all Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
